I Found It

I finally have a new full time job.

It’s been an interesting 14+ months of unemployment.  I have been through highs, lows, and found out more about myself and what God wants me to know about Him all the while remaining faithful to whatever “plans he has for me.”

I am changing industries completely – going from being a National Account Manager most of my career to now being in the Mortgage Industry as a Consumer Loan Officer.

This change has turned me upside down! I went from a sales position of a mostly base salary and some commission to 100% COMMISION!  I never, EVER thought I could be in a 100% sales commission job, but God revealed that I am not only wired for it but I am also ready for it.  He showed me that I wasn’t just a “National Account Manager,” but that I am actually a relational and analytic sales representative who has a very sincere heart.

I have a lot to learn though! I had to first pass the Mortgage License exam (failed it the 1st time but got it the 2nd – its hard!) and now I have to learn the systems, protocols and ins and outs of an industry that is heavily regulated by guidelines and laws.

It will take me some time to figure it all out but I know I will prevail. It is exciting to learn a new business and I am looking forward to being able to help people with their home mortgage needs.

As a Real Christian Businessman I have learned that no matter what position I am in (employed, not employed, part time, etc.) God is there the whole time.  He even sent me the Holy Spirit to help guide me in my decisions and direction. I can attest that this was evident the last 14+ months  – especially when I was willing to listen.

“Now the one who has prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Holy Spirit as a (guarantee).” 2 Cor 5:5 (CSB)

So no matter what position YOU are in right now (employed, unemployed, unhappy or happy with your current job), God always has his hand and his guidance with us via the Holy Spirit.

We just have to be willing to listen.
