She Did It Again
Well my sweet daughter graduated from high school this week. Her years in High School weren’t the best, but then again they weren’t the worst. She made it through studying and debate clubs and 3 years on the dance team (2 years as captain) and proms and everything in between. She epitomized her excitement to move on to the next stage of life at the graduation ceremony when she was the only student out of 300+ graduates to jump up and down across the stage when they announced her name.
She finished something she started.
There were several times during the last 4 years she was ready to give up. She didn’t want to continue to attend, had adversity with teachers, hardships with friends, classes that pushed her (and some that seemed useless), teachers that didn’t care and illnesses that pushed her to the brink.
Yet she showed perseverance.
She showed up each day, did what she was supposed to do (most of the time!) and got to the end and received the prize (diploma!).
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.” 1 Cor 9:24 (NIV)
A Real Christian Businessman finishes what we start at work. Even the hard assignments we are given. Especially the hard assignments we are given. Especially for the bosses that don’t seem to care at all about us.
So when we have those projects at work that seem too daunting to be able to finish or we have a deadline that is unreasonable – let’s be like my daughter and continue to work until we get it done.
Let’s run the race in such a way that we can win.
