Encouraging
It gets hard sometimes.
My job is fulfilling but sometimes certain days can be more difficult than others.
Last week took me a little off of my game plan as one of the loans I was working on started to go sideways right as we were getting to the very end of closing it. It took myself and 2 other support people spending more time than we wanted to on it in order to get it back on track.
These types of off the wall things that pop up each week can be very discouraging! You think all is going well, you have your day planned out with meetings and projects to work on, and then something that is beyond your control knocks you off your mark.
I eventually recovered from this loan going sideways but there wasn’t anyone there during or afterwards to encourage me or pat me on the back for getting things back to where they needed to be.
No encouragement at all.
Have you been through something difficult at work recently? Was anyone there to encourage you while it was going on or after it was all over?
We all need a little boost sometimes! Most of the time the status quo is to laugh at people who fail or struggle, but a Real Christian Businessman knows that we need to be the catalyst in the office offering encouragement and reassurance to others when they are struggling with something in their job.
“Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.” Rom 15:2 (ESV)
Let’s be mindful this week of our co-workers who may be struggling with something they are working on and give them a word of encouragement!
It just might be what they need to hear… other than what they normally would receive from a world that is wired to knock them down.
