It Happened Again
Monday was another sad day. Our son texted us from work telling us his friend Jeffrie (along with two other 18 year olds) were killed in a single car crash in Nashville the night before. Jeffrie has been over to our house a couple of times as he and Donevon would work on their cars together. Such a nice young man! Donevon also knew one of the other young men from Elementary school/Middle school.
We attended two services this weekend – one for each of the boys we knew. It was hard – the pain and sorrow that surrounds these deaths is great and it makes my heart heavy.
We are still feeling the effects of my next door neighbors death from a couple of weeks ago, then a couple of days later this happens.
What am I to do?
A Real Christian Businessman needs to know we don’t have all the answers – only God does. Questioning why this happened to these young folks is natural, but we will never know the answer until we are on the other side ourselves.
Being supportive and present for those that are suffering is a great path to take. Words of comfort usually don’t matter in these situations to those that are suffering, but discussing great memories we have of those that have passed usually does.
These last two weeks have been hard.
I don’t know what to say.
I’m left wondering, yet hopeful.
But this Real Christian Businessman remains sad.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4 (NIV)
