Deal or No Deal

Several loans I was working on fell through last week.

I spent a considerable amount of time with three different families.  I gave them numerous loan options to consider, had great conversations and answered all their questions.  But due to various circumstances none of them moved forward.

This can be so frustrating sometimes – spending a lot of time on something and then in the end it doesn’t work out.

How would you react if you had a week like this?

A Real Christian Businessman leads with an attitude of optimism when things don’t go our way at work.  I wanted to be upset about all three situations that didn’t pan out, but would my reaction have changed the result in any way at all?   I ended up chalking it all up as good practice to make me a better loan officer and I moved on.  I don’t always have an attitude like this but last week I was able to pull it off.

The Lord asks us to take it all in stride.  There will be good times and bad times at work and having an outlook of optimism instead of pessimism will go a long way in showing others that God asks us to look at things from the bright side as often as possible.

I know this week I will have more opportunities to interact with families and help them figure out their home mortgage needs.  How will I handle things if they don’t pan out?  Hopefully I can continue to keep an optimistic attitude no matter what the circumstances are – can you?
