When To Work
We went on vacation last week while the kids were on Spring Break. We headed to one of our favorite places – the sunny beaches of the Florida Panhandle! The weather was good most of the time. It started out very cold when we arrived, but warmed up each day. It was sunny almost every day too (only rained one day). We had a blast relaxing a bit and enjoying each other as a family.
It’s been awhile since we have been on vacation for an entire week. My wife and I still had to work some while we were there – but we made it a point to not work too much and spent some quality time with our kids and our family.
Have you taken a vacation lately?
Do you work the whole time you are on vacation?
A Real Christian Businessman knows that taking a break sometimes is something we have to do in order to stay sharp. The example we set for our co-workers while we are on vacation is something they are watching too! In today’s world of “always on”, leaving an out of office reply or letting a client know you won’t get right back to them because you are vacationing with your family is something they will understand and a protocol we all should follow.
So be sure you plan a vacation over the next several months and make sure you set expectations with others up front… so that they will know what to expect.
Everyone will appreciate it.
And all will be better for it.
“And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.” Ecc 3:13 (NLT)
