Throwing Darts

We got to move back into our house last weekend!  We stayed at a local hotel for almost four weeks while our house was being repaired due to the water damage that happened last year from our refrigerator leaking.  There are a few things left for them to do but they are minor enough we could move back in while they complete the work this week.

While we were out, I would come by almost every day to check on the work and see how much progress had been done.  Fortunately, doing this (along with some really good neighbors) helped me discover towards the end of the job that one of the out of town subcontractors and his helper/daughter were sleeping in our house overnight and using our shower without anyone knowing!  We kicked them out immediately, but the job was still not complete (they were about 80% done). At the same time I kicked them out we were supposed to be moving back in the very next day (but work was still not complete!).   We couldn’t extend our stay at the hotel anymore because completion had already been delayed by over a week and the insurance company was mad at the repair company and told them they better finish or else the repair company would have to pay our hotel bill.

Add to this our daughters sweet little guinea pig died the same day…  and my son scraped a car in the hotel parking lot the same day… and then his car conked out on his way to school the next day and had to be towed! (Transmission is shot!).

How do you handle stress like this when things go way crazy and Satan starts throwing darts at you?

A Real Christian Businessman keeps his calm!  Even though the subcontractors were very disrespectful and rude when I kicked them out and all this other stuff was spinning around I somehow kept my cool.

Needless to say the repair company worked into the wee hours of the night and got enough work completed for us to move back in the next day, but Satan attacked our family hard last week, and it took all I could to keep a calm head and not go off the deep end.

When things go way wrong and Satan attacks your personal and professional life remember who’s got your back!   God won’t give us more than we can handle but it all leads back to leaning on him for our strength and guidance when things get crazy in our lives.   We made it out of this situation a better family but I sure don’t want to have to deal with all of that again if I can help it! LOL
