Don’t Cut Them Out
Weekly Ration
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.” Col 4:6 (CSB)
or in this modern version:
“Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.” (Col 4:6 Message)
I couldn’t get away from this Bible verse for the last several days. I kept coming back to it. Reading it over and over.
I read it in two different translations this time.
And two things kept sticking out.
Be “seasoned with salt” and “bring out the best in others in a conversation”.
How many times do I want to cut someone down for saying the wrong thing instead of trying to “bring out the best” in them when we speak?!?!
Oh my!
What a reminder that I needed for this week…
