Ungrateful
Thanksgiving is behind us, and it is always a time of year that we reflect on being thankful for all the things that we have.
But as I was trying to write my blog post this week, I noticed I wasn’t feeling that grateful.
I’m not saying I’m sad or depressed or that I am upset.
Or that I don’t have ‘enough’.
It’s just sometimes I get overwhelmed by all that is going on in my family and my job and at home and I don’t exude gratefulness at all.
Has this ever happened to you?
I have a verse I have clung to for over 2 years now.
“Be joyful always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Th 5:16-18 (NIV) (emphasis added)
I say it to myself every morning.
I review it during the day, sometimes multiple times a day.
But then I still find myself very ungrateful!
How can this be when I have so much to be thankful for!? A Savior that loves me no matter what, my health, my amazing wife, my new job, my wonderful kids, my awesome in-laws, a home… the list goes on and on.
But somehow, sometimes, I don’t always feel grateful for anything.
Satan attacks a Real Christian Businessman. He hates for us to appreciate things! He wants us to look at the downside and forget all that we have. He wants us to poke holes in everything so that we walk around not appreciating anything.
Be gone Satan!
I have more than I need and more than I deserve.
So as we go through each day this week, Let’s all be grateful for what we have… and enjoy each day for what it is.
