Take A Break
My family and I are at the beach this week; practicing social distancing and ordering take out while we enjoy the sunsets, sand and beautiful sunny 75-degree weather.
But it has been awhile since we have gone on vacation due to the pandemic! We didn’t really go on vacation this summer like we usually do, and as I look back at the last time we were headed out on vacation it was Spring Break back in March (when we were going to drop the kids off at the grandparents house in Central Florida for a week and come right back home – but instead ended up hunkered down with them for 2.5 months!).
When was the last time you and your family went on vacation?
Have you been good about taking some time off?
The pandemic has changed what vacation looks like for many. Some of us don’t have enough of a job or income right now to even think about taking a vacation, while others feel that if we leave for a vacation right now our job might not be there when we get back.
Yet as a Real Christian Businessman knows, taking some time off actually allows us to recharge ourselves and renews our mental acuity. Taking our mind off the daily tasks that work usually brings gives us some space to think and that in turn helps create some balance in our lives.
So my challenge today is this:
If you can… take a break. Take some time off.
You, your family and your co-workers will all be better for it!
