I’m Scared pt 2

As you know I work for Instacart as one of my part time jobs to generate some type of income until I secure my next full time job assignment and I have been very busy lately grocery shopping for others.  The biggest thing I have seen is the fight for toilet paper, both in-store and on everyone’s orders.  Ok, ok, we can all laugh about this – as who knows what this means as we all hoard toilet paper?!  But at the same time it shows us that many people in this country are still scared.

We don’t know what to do.

There is still uncertainty.

Information is still subject to verification.

Will I get the virus?

What happens if I do or someone from my family does?

As offices mandate “work from home” scenarios, churches move to online worship and schools are out for an extended period of time, are you being like me and laughing at those that are grabbing up all the toilet paper, ground beef and chicken? Are you watching too much of the news channels or reading too much on social media about what “could” happen and getting worked up more than is needed?

This is another reminder that as a Real Christian Businessman we know who is in control.  Again, I am not saying what we are going through right now is not serious and that proper actions don’t need to be taken to protect ourselves, but we have a peace within us that others can see IF WE ALLOW OURSELVES TO SHOW IT.

Be kind to others that are worried.

Offer to help as you see a need.

Squash co-worker iChats, memes and messages containing snide comments about others who are freaking out about this whole thing.

Pray for those in our neighborhoods and our leaders (yes even the President whether we like him or not) so that the best decisions can be made for our society.

We owe it to others to be part of the calm during the storm.

God didn’t say being a believer would be easy, but it is what we are charged to do.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matt 5:14-16 (NIV)
