The Office Party

Christmas time came a little later this year due to the timing of the Thanksgiving Holiday – and it is still such a wonderful time!

It is amazing how everyone (including our family!) is rushing around trying to make sure we get all the gifts, attend all the tree lightning ceremonies, and see all the Christmas lights.

And also attend the proverbial office Christmas party!

Do you still have one?  I know over the years it seems that my companies didn’t even have a Christmas party anymore.  The one’s we used to have when I was in the Music Industry were the best though. My former bosses would come out of “retirement” (they used to have a band that played gigs all the time) and perform for us that night (LC and DB you ROCKED!).  The thing is, many of my co-workers would get so inebriated we would have to help them back to their hotel or their home.  Some would even pass out! It was a fun time for sure but as you can tell some folks would over do it just a little bit.

I usually choose not to don’t drink at these events.  This is not because I am any better or worse than anyone else, and I don’t condone those that do choose to drink, it is just a choice I have decided to make for myself.

How do YOU act at the office Christmas party?  Do you drink way too much and get smashed? Do you not drink at all and stand around and judge those that do?  Are you somewhere in the middle and drink some?   As a Real Christian Businessman this is a perfect chance for us to show God’s love while also showing some restrain when it comes to the amount we do drink.  Do you think it is a good idea to get so drunk that you don’t even recognize your wife?  Or you pass out? Or you say things that are inappropriate to your co-workers?

Let’s all be smart about our actions at the office Christmas party this year and make wise choices when it comes to how much we drink and how crazy we act.  We have an opportunity to show God’s love to others by not only what we eat and drink, but by HOW much we eat and drink!

Together we can make an impact this season!
