Be Alert!

Wow- I’ve found him all around me lately.

While at work, the enemy is coming at me from every turn.  People are not being kind to each other.  Meetings are getting out of control.  Deadlines are not being met, it isn’t pretty.

At home, the enemy is inside my head and tells me I’m not a good enough parent. That I am missing it with my kids, I ‘m not able to teach them what they needed to know.

With my wife,  I find myself wanting more than giving.  Expecting things that are unreasonable, looking for her to fill all of my needs when that is not humanly possible by anyone.

Spiritually, I missed studying the Bible several times this week.  I forgot to pray with the kids a couple of times when I dropped them off.  I have not “prayed continually” for all of my needs but think I can do it on my own.  The enemy keeps telling me I’m not worthy.

All of these are lies!

The enemy does get the best of a a Real Christian Businessman sometimes as I know all too well. It happens. We are human. We get tired. Weak. Sick.  Mentally fatigued.  The thing to remember is he is attacking us all the time! Whether we are at our best or are down and out even little.

Be encouraged today; know that we all go through some of the same things at the same time, but that in the end, we win, because we believe in THE ONE who already defeated the enemy.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 peter 5:8 (NIV)
