“I’m Busy”

I had a lot going on last week .

Lots to do at both home and work.  End of the school year stuff is starting to take over so there are many commitments, shows, performances, ceremonies and school functions that I have been attending.  I also have some added responsibilities at work, so I am learning new things and new ways to do to them which takes some extra time.

In the midst of all of this, I have found myself not being as concerned with what is going on with the other people I work with, only concerned with “my worries” and all that “I” have to do.

How easy it is for me to be self absorbed and “woe is me” at work! Satan wants me to only be concerned with myself; not to care for others, not to pray for others, not to show interest in what they are doing.  When I get so busy at work and at home it is much easier to forget about everyone else because I feel it is only me that is busy right now or going through a trial.

To allow my faith to shine through at work, I need to be genuinely concerned with what is going on with others.  This doesn’t diminish what I am going through or mean the struggles or busyness that I am experiencing isn’t a big deal.  It just shows the compassion that we have for others, and it gives us an opportunity to let other people know why we still have joy and care even in the midst of a lot going on in our own lives.

This week let’s show genuine concern for the folks that we work with, so that even though we may be experiencing activity that is causing us busyness and stress, our faith can shine through as we care about those around us.
