It’s Your Best Chance All Year
Easter is the most wonderful gift for us as believers. It is a huge reminder of what Christ did for us on the Cross, and something that is celebrated worldwide on the same day.
I also think the Monday after Easter is the best opportunity for us to witness to others all around us.
I use this day as the one day a year I am able to let my co-workers, suppliers – basically anyone I interact with – know that I am a believer. The Monday after Easter Sunday is always the perfect opportunity! People are getting back to work on Monday (some of us even get Good Friday off) and the first question everyone asks is always “How was your Easter?”. This is my open invitation to let them know that I am so excited to be able to celebrate what Christ did for me without them turning me off or them walking the other way.
I don’t “Bible Thump” them with my excitement… I slip it in on my conversation about family time and Easter dinner… letting them subtly but purposely know that it isn’t just a holiday for me. Even though I get to relax and spend time with my family, it is an all out opportunity to talk about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
As a Real Christian Businessman, we have an opportunity on Monday to let people know the reason we have the faith that we do. And it’s not that hard! Since everyone already knows the factual reasons we celebrate on Friday and Sunday, mentioning them in a personal context what it means won’t get us banned to the “crazy Christian dude” farm at our workplace.
Don’t forget on Monday to subtly use Easter as the best opportunity to let people know not only why we believe but that it is more than just another holiday to us.
It’s our once a year ‘Get out of jail free card’ to directly spread the Gospel at work!
