Sunday to Monday

If you attend church regularly on Sunday like I do, you know that the whole reason we are there is to be encouraged in our walk with Christ. To be in fellowship and around other folks that are like minded, to praise God through music/song, be taught His word, and learn discipleship – all so that when we go out during the week we are “ready to go” and recharged.

What ends up being hard as we both know is trying to balance this faith in God with our work (and that of course is the whole reason I write this blog every week).

God is looking for us to carry our time with Him on Sunday into the workplace on Monday and throughout the week. He is actually specific in his words as to what will happen when we do this versus when we do not:

“…I will honor those who honor Me, but those who despise Me will be disgraced”. 1 Sam 2:30b (HCSB)

As we go into the workplace we have to remember that although in today’s age it is difficult to carry our faith with us, God is not pleased with us if we just praise Him at church but not at work. It isn’t acceptable for us to revere God when we are with other believers but not in our schools or in our neighborhoods or in our workplace. He expects us to honor him completely, with our words, our actions, and our life. If we honor Him, he will honor us.

Let’s remember our time in church on when we are out in the workplace, and don’t let Satan fool us into thinking that we can’t have faith while we are also out in the world.

We can!

And God will honor us for trying.
