The “Original” Real Christian Businessman

Most of you know the story of Noah from the Bible, right? Noah lived in a world that was oblivious to God. They mocked him, scoffed at his commands and made fun of everything that he stood for. In the end God decided to wipe out civilization completely and to start over with just one righteous man and his family. This was such a drastic move that God vowed to never do it again (at least not to do it again with water!).

Noah walked among people who had no regard for God. Every day – while he worked or went to the market to buy food/supplies – he ran across people who didn’t have a care for God’s ways or who God was. Yet throughout his life Noah remained faithful to God even when his surroundings were nothing close to Gods own heart.

While at work, do you ever feel like you are surrounded by people who have no regard for God?  While you try to live by the simple commands of the Bible others are trampling all over you and your approach?

I know from personal experience that it can be hard sometimes at work to remain faithful to God’s plan for us when everything around us seems to counter what we stand for.

God sees what we do though! He saw Noah through it all and rewarded him and his family by sparing his life and those of his family.  Standing firm as a Real Christian Businessman in a world that many times ignores God altogether is something that pleases and honors God.

If you sometimes feel like your workplace is like that of the world that Noah lived in, be encouraged this week that God is watching you and sees what you do!  He sees the seeds you are planting in others via your approach and actions at work and He will reward you in ways that you may never realize.

“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord…. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” Gen 6:8-9 NIV
