Carry The Burden

I’ve had a challenging week, just getting back from vacationing on the beaches of the Emerald Coast (that is the Florida panhandle beaches for those that didn’t know!). I’ve been catching up on everything at work and have been in more meetings than I wanted to be in (has meeting overload ever happened to you?).

In one of the meetings, the leader talked to us about not just carrying our own load, but also making sure we were stepping up and helping to carry the load of those around us.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Gal 6:2 CSB

Even though I was still trying to catch up on all of the work that I needed to get done, it was a great reminder for me as a Real Christian Businessman that I needed to also see how I could help my fellow co-workers do the jobs that they needed to do –  especially while it seemed that I was overwhelmed just getting back from vacation.

Could I lend a hand on a project they were working on?

Could I offer to help them prepare for an upcoming meeting?

Could I explain a report to them they were having trouble understanding?

A Real Christian Businessman looks outside of himself, even when he is swamped, and realizes that serving others at work is just another way to show God’s love to all of those around us.  It is a perfect example of us balancing our faith with our work.

Let’s use my “back to work re-start” as a reminder this week to try and carry some burdens of our co-workers… and maybe, just maybe, they will see God’s love shine through our actions.
