Happy Holidays!
Have you been Christmas shopping lately? It seems each year things get a little less like Christmas and more like business. Especially when it comes to check out time at retail stores. The whole thing about not saying “Merry Christmas”anymore and saying “Happy Holidays”has turned into a big politically correct way of doing Christmas (or should I say “way of doing business”).
As a Real Christian Businessman we can make a difference in this arena. Freedom of Speech is still a protected value of our country based on our consititution. While we are out shopping, although the employees may have been mandated by their employer to say only “Happy Holidays” YOU can respond by saying “Merry Christmas.” When you are at work, and you run across those people that you know don’t celebrate Christ’s birth, don’t be ashamed about wishing them a Merry Christmas. When you are abbreviating the word Christmas while writing make it a point to abbreviate it like this (Cmas) instead ‘x’ing Christ out of Christmas by doing it like this (Xmas).
We can get all mad and puffed up about the commercialization of Christ’s birth. Or we can make a difference in our own actions and do some things that we know will put Christ back at the front of the reason for the season. Which attitude will you choose to have this season?
