I feel great…
Have you done any physical exercise lately? I mean, other than walking over to the refrigerator door and opening it up, have you done some type of moderately strenuous exercise? If you haven’t, you shouldn’t be afraid. Regular exercise is the piece of our lives that gets delegated to “if I have time I’ll exercise.” But regular exercise is actually the secret weapon to being able to stay on top of everything.
You see, when we exercise, it actually takes additional oxygen to our brains, which allows us to be more alert, more aware, to think more clearly and to be more creative.
Don’t believe me? Just try this experiment. Go for a brisk walk (not slow!) or a 30 minute jog, and then try to remember a Bible verse or some great quote. Do the same thing again but do it in the middle of the day sometime after sitting for at least 30 minutes. Which verse did you actually remember?
A Real Christian Businessman makes sure that he exercises regularly. We all have the same 168 hours in a week, how we use them is based on the choices that we make. Do you eat every day? Sleep every day? Get dressed every day? Check Facebook every day Moderate exercise doesn’t just happen, you have to make the habit a regular part of your day! For myself, I have found that if I start my day with exercise, it puts me in the right frame of mind right from the beginning. Sometimes I jog, sometimes I swim, and sometimes I play basketball. But you don’t have to do it in the morning like I do, you can exercise at lunch, or in the evening, whenever it is best for you. What I am trying to do here is it to ENCOURAGE you to actually do it – because the hardest part is actually starting!
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT)
Don’t be discouraged by all of this, but be ENCOURAGED. If you will carve out just a few moments to take care of your body, you will be amazed at how much better you will actually feel all of the time. Will you try?
