The Closer We Get…

We have family visiting us this week and it has been great. We love when people come to see us (especially our family!), and our kids do as well. This week has seen our kids super excited to spend times with their grandparents – they have so much fun together! Mom and Dad have also helped us immensely with little things around the house and Devon and I even get a chance or two to leave the house without having to worry about getting a babysitter (cool!).

Almost always though, right before anyone arrives, things start to get tense between my wife and me. We end up not on the same page like we usually are. Misunderstandings increase. Communication breaks down.

What I’m talking about here is how Satan ramps up his attack on us, trying to “divide our house” before anyone’s arrival. He also works overtime while everyone is here – trying to get in the middle of everything that we do. He doesn’t like to see things go well and goes into overdrive to break us down.

A Real Christian Businessman realizes that when this situation happens, just like in the workplace, we need to call on The One for guidance and help.

We need to pray for God to protect us. God has said He will protect us and help us when we pray. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to come into our lives. The Holy Spirit promises to intervene in times of need. We need to read Gods Word. God has given us a road map as to how to handle all types of situations that come up.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:6-7

Don’t forget that when Satan attacks there are things we can do to get back on track. When I increase my prayer time, ask the Holy Spirit to help me, and read the Bible more it always works for me. Don’t allow Satan to let you think otherwise!
