Get Rid of It!

My posts have been erratic as of late and I apologize.  I have been in the process of moving from Grand Rapids Michigan to Nashville Tennessee, along with starting a new job with a new company, so things have been a little disheveled.

Nevertheless, I have a key point that I have learned about over the last several weeks that I wanted to share.

You (and ME especially) have got too much STUFF.

You think you don’t?  Well I am telling you that you do.

In anticipation of our move, we had already started to purge items that we didn’t need any more, either by donating things, having a yard sale, selling items on Craigslist, EBay, to our neighbors, etc.

But it wasn’t enough.

We ran out of time.

We sold our house very rapidly (within one day! God is good), and then had to basically get it all together and move it.  Boy is that a huge task.

My point here is this:  I learned (the hard way!) that no matter how well you think you cleaned out your stuff before a move, you still have more stuff than you ever imagined you have!  A Real Christian BusinessMan would take care of all of this “stuff” before he has to move, allowing his family more of a seamless, less worry free experience.  Of course I didn’t do as good of a job as I should, but that is now water under the bridge.  We are making it through fine so far (I hope!).

“ …a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15 (NIV)

What is in your home right now that you could part with that would make you and your family’s life even easier to enjoy?  What if you had to move in 30 days – What would you get rid of right now to make that move easier?  Don’t wait until it actually happens like this to figure it out!
